Billie McEwen
Mrs. Billie Lee McEwen, age 69, of Richmond, VA and Mountain City, TN passed away on Friday, August 28, 2009, at the MCV Medical Center in Richmond.
Billie was born on April 26, 1940 in Johnson County, TN to the late Haney and Arzella Greer Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Hiram McEwen and Tom Lewis. She was a 1958 graduate of Johnson County High School and a member of the Mountain City Presbyterian Church.
Billie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Lloyd McEwen; daughters: Tonda McEwen  and Susan Hayes, both of Richmond, VA; sister Carolyn Adams and husband Bryan of Mountain City, TN; brother-in-law, Mark McEwen and wife Amelia of Butler, TN; two sisters-in-law:  Jewel  Lewis of Indian River, Florida and Jean McEwen of Butler, TN; grandchildren:  Shelby Hayes, April Hayes and Jamie Hayes all of Richmond, VA; nephew, Eric Hill of Mountain City, TN; other nieces and nephews, two aunts, two uncles and a very special companion, her dog Gordon.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2009, from Mountain City Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. tom Peake and Minister James Swoager officiating.
A Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009, from the Reece Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Eric Hill, Sam McEwen, John McEwen, Terry McEwen, Daniel McEwen, Josh Morefield and David South.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations to be made to the Mountain City Presbyterian Church, 517 Fairground Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.
